Road Pavement Detail - Western Australia

The pavement is that portion of the carriageway placed above the subgrade for the support of, and to form a running surface for, vehicular traffic. It is comprised of the trafficable part of the carriageway (i.e. the traffic lanes), plus the sealed and unsealed portion of the shoulder. When a road is widened the definition of the pavement extends to include the widening. Pavement details are recorded for each carriageway and left and right shoulders of a road.
